Cold Calling! Yikes! Yes, It Can Be Scary

Cold Calling! Yikes! Yes, It Can Be Scary
Today I would like to talk to you about Cold Calling on businesses and neighbors. Since I am not sure what you know or do not know I wanted to give you a definition of cold calling.
Cold calls are phone calls targeting clients who may need a particular service. The calls include a sales pitch or explanation of services and a conversation with the client about his individual needs
Now, I would like to stress it says “COLD CALLS are done on the phone. Which doesn’t have to be the case as you can do them in your community by visiting local businesses and homes.
So for me I can do cold calling on the phone if I want to get the phone book out or google businesses and call them. But most of the time when doing cold calling on the phone it will be hung up on you.
So for me I would rather get out and walk the neighborhood or busiensses and introduce myself as it is easier to get people to talk to you face to face than on a phone. Plus, you can actually see what they do and get to know them and there businesses. Which will tell you how you can help them out and it isn’t all about me…. me… me…
So lets talk about Cold Calling and what I would recommend you do if your looking to grow your business or blog.
I would say you should make it a point to go Cold Calling at least once a month and more if possible.  Now, no whining  cold calling must be done once a month!
I know you hate cold calling and so do I. But you must get over that and do it.
Practice on you friends and family. And make sure they ask you questions and even hang up on you. And tell them to think outside the box so you are prepared for every scenario.
Now, that you have practied your ready to head out or to pick up the telephone and no, you can’t say I will do it later. Just do it know because the sooner you step out of your comfort zone the easier it will be.
Before you  say I don’t know where to go or what to say, get in your car and drive stop at the first business you see and walk in. Introduce yourself ask them about there business.
Or  pick a certain type of business to call grab your phone book and search for this businesses.. Say you are with Mary Kay and want to call Spas, set a Goal for how many appointments you want to set that day and do not quit till you get them.
Come up with a questionnaire you can take with you and make notes so when your home you can contact them back with some questions you had and suggestions on how you can work together. As well as why they would want to partner with you.

And if someone tells you no, ask them for 2 things if you can call them later and when. The also ask them for a reference as they may know someone who needs your services. Or they ight be looking for something and you can help them out.

And now DIAL… Or Drive
Take a deep breath and go
