Networking Is Key To Growing A Blog

Networking Is Key To Growing A Blog

One thing I found out when I started my blog was that Networking is key to growing a blog. Now, when I say Networking I don’t only mean online but offline as well. Because this will help you brand yourself in your City.

This will lead to local businesses noticing you and you will be invited to attend local blogger events.  As Charlie and I was just able to attend Ice at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, Texas as well as the Perot Musuem in Dallas, Texas.

More than that it will also lead to Ambassadorships which can become paid events or will help you get products for reviews and giveaways. As at Christmas I was able to give away a Kangaroo Notebook.

Now to find local Networking groups in your area you can seach on Facebook by typing in Bloggers and the area you live in. Or you can do a search on Google for local groups you can  join.

But there is a tip I want to give you and that is as your looking for local Networking groups to join don’t only look for blogging groups. Look for Networking groups that can teach you things like SEO or computer programing.

Or Direct Sellers groups as you can partner with the members to do Reviews or Giveaways. Or offer them advertising. Or you can even help them by setting up local events and vharging them for a space at the event. Which would allow you to monetize your site.

Here is some Networking sites you might want to check out:

Meetup

I like being a part of Meetup as I can set up my own groups. Or I can type in what type of group I am looking for and my zip code and it will pull up groups in my area. The only downfall for Meetup is that you are charged to use the site. But I have paid in the past and it was well worth it.

Toast Master

Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development. Our organization has more than 345,000 memberships. Members improve their speaking and leadership skills by attending one of the 15,900 clubs in 142 countries that make up our global network of meeting locations.

I like that Toastmasters will help us over come our fear of public speaking. So as we are out and about we will appear more confident and knowledgeable. Plus, Toastmasters will also help when writing out pitch letters for clients.

Another way to Network with fellow Bloggers is to look for Blogging Conferences as they  are all over the world. The only downfall with this is they can be pricey. But I was able to attend one as I volunteered and my ticket was free.

Also check out your local Chamber of Commerce as they will have events you can go to for free. I would recommend not joining the Chamber of Commerce until you make sure it is the right place for you and you will be able to promote your blog at it. As some Chambers here do not work with Bloggers.

Now, if none of these groups work out for you start your own group as you can set your own hours and times you want to host the meetings. As well as how the group is open to.

As last year I ran a Networking Group and will be starting it back up. I geared mine towards families building businesses. I allowed the families to bring there children so they didn’t have to pay for Babysitting.

I also had everyone bring there favorite drink as well as a Snack they would be able to share with at least one other person. So, no, one had to cook before the meeting or after it was over.

I also allowed everyone to do a 30 second commercial so they could talk about there business.

One member was allowed to showcase her business for 5 minutes but she had to teach us a way we could use her business with our business and she was allowed to take orders.

Men was welcome at the meetings as well as men are looking for businesses to join.

Once every three months we would host a local event and raise money for a Organization like the Cancer.

Thank you for taking the time to read “Networking Is Key To Growing A Blog”.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
