To Me My Family Always Comes First

As a business owner we have to set hours and stick to them if we want to grow a business or blog. Which I have been none to neglect my family and to put them on hold for blogging. now, if I must admit it sometimes it wasn’t even a job that had to be done. It was just the fact I didn’t want to face life so I hid online.

Only as I watch Charlie grow up I have made a resolution this year to try and be done with blogging when he gets in from school. So I can dedicate time to him. As he isn’t home from school long before he has to go to bed.

So yesterday was Charlies last day home from the Christmas Holidays so he asked me to spend the day with him watching movies. So as a business owner I had to decide what was the most important to me.

So as I sat at the computer and watched Charlie sitting on the couch by himself it dawned on me my work would be here tomorrow but something might happen and Charlie or i might not be.

So I shut the computer down and grabbed a stack of movies to watch with Charlie. I posted on Facebook I was taking a day off. Then about 30 minutes later a friend texted me and reminded me of a class she thought I should attend.

I texted her back to let her know I was spending the day with Charlie. Then later in the afternoon Charlie wanted to go outside so I jumped on the computer to work. When my friend texted me and as we chatted she asked me what fun things Charlie had received for Christmas.

As I needed to find him something fun to do next to me so I could continue working. Which I see her point. Only the reason I run the blog is so I can be at home with my son. So why would I want him to have something to do when he needed me?

As one day he will be grown and not want me around. So if I plan on working from home Charlie and David will always come first. So if someone doesn’t understand that are they someone you would want to work with?
